Turn Up The Healthy Way: Goi Ga - Vietnamese Chicken & Cabbage Salad Recipe

Ingredients:
  • Grilled Chicken
  • 1/2 large cabbage
  • 1 pack of rice noodles
  •  3 tbs of Chinese fish sauce
  • 2tbs of dark soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tbs of white vinegar
  • 1 lime (juice)
  • 1 chilli pepper
  • 1 handful of fresh mint leaves
  • 2 spring onions
  •  Roasted Peanuts ( to garnish)
I know quite a lot of ingredients but it'll allow you to make a huge batch, ready for lunch the next day!

Ever since I tasted this incredible Salad in Berlin I've been hooked. My tastebuds and my senses were completely in awe. It's spicy, it's nutty and it's sweet. What are these flavours?

Unfortunately you can only eat out so much per week and once the restaurant owner tells you that while he loves your custom, eating this dish everyday isn't very healthy - You realise that you should branch out and cook more at home. After a quick Google session I found myself a bit lost standing in the isles at the supermarket and Asian Food Superstore with a list of ingredients and determination to make my very own version of this delicious dish.

So if you're round the Hasenheide in Berlin, definitely drop by Hamy for a quick and healthy bite to eat! (Everything on the menu is 4,90€ and it's all fresh!) If not, in the meantime enjoy this version of the dish.

Steps
Dressing
For the dressing, combine the vinegar, lime juice, fish sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, spring onions, chilli and garlic  and stir stir stir...
I went ahead and prepared the chicken separately, seasoning as desired and grilling it.Let it cool and chop or rip it apart so it get's that shredded chicken effect. Combine it with your rice noodles (entirely up to you how you would like them, I like to warm them in boiled water beforehand. Wash the cabbage and let it rinse, add/mix it with the chicken. Combine it with the dressing and voila! To serve crush a few peanuts over it!
Do let me know how your efforts went? Do you have any healthy meal ideas?
