Hello my lovelies,
Well what can I say this is the first post of 2016, the past year has been great so lets make this year even better! 2015 is definitely the year where I branched out when it comes to all things beauty and lifestyle. I've started expressing myself more when it came to makeup and actually started wearing full face makeup on a regular basis.
I also started to look across the pond when it comes to makeup and beauty and drew a lot of inspiration from US bloggers and Makeup artists. All in all, 2015 in terms of fashion and beauty has been great!
Starting off one of the major things for me this past year has been highlighters. Don't get me wrong I love love love the Missy Lynn Palette for all its shades but what gets me more excited are the two golden/bronze highlighters. They're actually everything! Especially in the colder more grey months of the year has this little gem brightened my day, talk about 'glowup'.
Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
I've really delved into foundations in 2015 and loved trying out a few. The weightless formula is a dream and really stays put all day. To find out more and see how I applied it head to my review here.
Now, it's not a secret that I'm completely obsessed with NYX. I honestly think it should be more hyped in the UK. However, with it being another US brand ( I mean they're nearly all US brands but delivery to the UK can be a bit tricky if not impossible...cough cough Colourpop cosmetics...)
Thankfully, NYX is now stocked in Boots and online at Selfridges. This past year I have been very impressed with the HD foundation, it gives me that little bit more of a halo effect whenever I try to channel my inner RuPaul, a girl wishes for that under-eye concealer blend!
Similarly, the Tame & Frame Eyebrow Eyebrow pomade is a must for me on a daily basis. I used so solely rely on powder alone when it came to my brows but as soon as I applied this little wonder pomade my brow game changed. No, seriously I get the eyebrow obsession now. One aspect that I love is that it's literally only a fraction of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade.
Lancome Teint Miracle in shade 11
I think it,s safe to say that I have a problem with amassing more and more foundations. Lancome used to be my trusty day to day foundation - It really depends on my mood and if I want to feel a bit fancy. The one thing I have to say about this foundation is that it mimics real skin. I know that sounds weird, but whenever I wear this foundation I always get compliments on how I'm lucky to be able to get away with wearing no makeup at all OR what good skin I have, little do they know...
This concealer is great for topping up during the day to keep that glow and highlight going! I purposely went for a slightly lighter shade and I'm glad, by the time it sets it really melts into my skin.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Media
My everyday go to colour, I don't do nudes very well and like to shock a little with bold lips. The shade Media really just did that! 2016 will be the year where I'll have a try at nude lipsticks, do let me know if anyone can suggest a few good shades.
Next to Coconut oil this oil is the one! Not only does it leave my skin ridiculously soft it completely cured my elbows from being dry and brittle. This oil is a true miracle worker and also made my hair and my edges grow faster. Again, don't really know why sweet almond oil is not hyped as it should be!? PLUS, it's only £3.49 from Holland Barrets, bargain!
I literally use this palette everyday, it's both work and party friendly and saves carrying around several different shades or palettes. I really recommend this palette to any beginners who like a combination of both matte and shimmery neutral tones!
It's not really fair to include it on my list BUT with all the parties and festivities in the past few months, I've been using this kit quite frequently. It's absolutely crazy how you can change your entire bone structure with a little bit of highlight and contour. Incredible.
These are my faves of 2015 - Do leave a comment about your 2015 discoveries, I'd love to hear what you guys have been loving in 2015.
