Holy Hair Grails For Afro-Hair

Care for your curly or afro hair this winter and don't let the cold temperatures dull your hair!

Oh hey my lovelies,
What has happened to the weather? And there was me thinking that we saw the worst of the winter and back it comes with icy temperatures. The colder it gets the more I lather myself in everything hydrating and nourishing.

I have quite dry skin and with colder temperatures, keeping my skin & hair moisturised is always quite tricky! Thankfully, I have a few tricks up my sleeve on how to care for my hair (and skin) for when it's cold.
My key products when it comes to caring for my hair and skin ORS Olive OilMoroccanoil Hair Hydration setCoconut Oil (Superdrug)MiaromaSweet Almond Oil (Holland & Barrett).
ORS Incredibly Rich Moisturizing Hair Lotion
Curly / Afro hair can be quite tricky to work when it comes to keeping it moustourised. I have forever been a Pink Oil kinda girl and it wasn't until I borrowed a friends ORS olive oil that I got introduced to this incredibly rich moisturising lotion. I have bleached, treated, permed and done God knows to my hair and I have to say that as soon as I apply a squeeze of this hair lotion, my hair gets its vitality back. It's also great to keep edges and sparse patches growing and honestly applying some olive oil + castor oil to sparse edges and patches really gets them growing. I'm curios to find out how other people get on with  this particular hair lotion, so do let me know!
moroccanoil hydration shampoo review
Moroccanoil Oil's hydration range banishes dull and dry hair.
Confession time, I love OILS!
The Morocanoil Hydration has really been keeping my hair in tip top shape. Both the shampoo and conditioner are lovely to cleanse and condition...and you know with me - washing my hair is a 3 day thing, so I'm loving it and slightly indulge in it. This Oil Treatment is an absolute gem! If you suffer from tangled hair (or weave...we've all been there) definitely give this wonder oil a go. You'll feel and see the difference instantly. Plus, a little goes a long way and I find that a small bottle can last me months.  Coming to another favourite of mine...
Oils are the future of hair care.Coconut oil and sweet almond oil are great for growing your hair
Coconut Oil! I don't know what we have been doing before we started using coconut oil. If I could lather my life in coconut oil I truly would. From cooking to baking to skin and hair, coconut oil is VERSATILE. Though, I'm keeping my skin and hair coconut oil separate...
I picked this small tub of coconut oil up at my local Superdrug and keep repurchasing it. I absolutely love it and again, a little goes a very long way!

Another discovery I've made in the past few month is Sweet Almond Oil. I don't think there's any oil out there that makes your skin softer. I actually started noticing that almond oil is a key ingredient when it comes to nourishing and softening skin. If you're suffering from any dry and itchy patches apply a bit of this oil, it's also great dry areas of the skin like elbows and legs.

Normally such goodness comes with a hefty price tag BUT you can find some absolute gems in Holland& Barrett. I totally recommend visiting their essential oils section. You can find everything from avocado oil to grapeseed oil, absolute treasure trove.

Leave a comment, I'm curious to hear what you are using to combat the cold when it comes to your hair and skin.
